After months of lockdown and strict border restrictions, UAE has created an air bubble with India and opened its doors to Indian tourists.

This guide tells you everything you need to know before heading to the airport so that you have a smooth and safe journey.

Before Travel

1. To travel from India to UAE, you need to either be a UAE national, a UAE Resident Permit Holder or have a valid UAE visa. Visa-on-arrival services remain suspended as of now.

2. You will be allowed to land in either Dubai or Sharjah. Indians cannot take direct flights to any other cities in UAE, including Abu Dhabi.

3. All passengers above the age of 12 need to show a negative RT-PCR COVID test report. Antibody test reports and rapid antigen test reports will not be considered. Children below the age of 12 and people with disabilities are exempt from taking this test.

4. Your negative COVID test report must be printed, must be in English and the sample should be taken no more than 96 hours prior to the flight departure time. Digital copies and copies in regional Indian languages will not be accepted.

At Check-In

All passengers are required to fill a Health Declaration Form and submit it at check-in.

During Your Flight

You will have to wear a mask as well as a face shield for the entire duration of the flight.

Upon Landing

1. You will have to submit a Quarantine Undertaking Form to Dubai Health Authority staff upon arrival

2. You will need to download the COVID19-DXB Smart App (almost like an Emirati version of the Aarogya Setu app) once you land in UAE

3. You may be asked to undergo a COVID test upon landing, in case you display flu-like symptoms. If you test positive, you’ll be taken to institutional quarantine

4. All tourists landing in Sharjah need to show a mandatory International Health Insurance. This is not mandatory for those landing in Dubai

In case you are travelling from India to UAE anytime soon, we urge you to remain safe and take all necessary precautions. Happy travels!
