Dubai: Ski Dubai, in collaboration with Dubai Sports Council and fitness brand CRANK, is set to host the Middle East’s first-ever Snow Duathlon Dubai on Sunday, 29 June. Held in the sub-zero conditions of -4°C, the event marks a major milestone in the region’s fitness calendar, blending endurance, innovation, and community spirit.
Combining a 5 km stationary bike ride with either a 3-km (three-loop) or 5-km (five-loop) indoor snow run, the duathlon is open to individuals and two-person teams aged 13 to 60. The one-of-a-kind competition will take place entirely within Ski Dubai’s snow-covered environment, making it one of the most unique athletic events in the region.
Participants can register via Premier Online until 27 June. Every finisher will receive a commemorative medal, with the top three performers in each category awarded podium recognition and special prizes.
This pioneering event is part of an ongoing partnership between Ski Dubai and the Dubai Sports Council, aimed at redefining community wellness by making winter sports more accessible—even during peak summer. Their joint mission supports year-round physical activity and aligns with the Council’s strategic vision of diversifying Dubai’s sports landscape.
The initiative also highlights the Council’s commitment to inclusivity. Efforts are being made to ensure wider participation across nationalities, age groups, and people of determination, with special emphasis on engaging UAE nationals in new athletic experiences.
Majid Al Futtaim’s continued collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council further underscores Dubai’s growing reputation as a global hub for inclusive and boundary-pushing sporting events. The Snow Duathlon Dubai reflects this ambition, offering residents and visitors a dynamic new way to stay active while beating the summer heat.
