Regional Experts Urge UAE Businesses to Strengthen Cybersecurity Amid Growing Data Breach Costs and Global Cybercrime Losses
Cybersecurity experts convened in Dubai for the IBPC and Falcon Eye’s conference, “Shaping a Secure Enterprise,” spotlighting UAE cybersecurity strategies. The event emphasised protecting businesses amid rising cyber threats.
Guest of Honour H.E. Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Kindi praised the UAE’s focus on cybersecurity, calling it essential in today’s digital era. Keynote speaker Sukiraman Manivannan highlighted AI governance and robust digital frameworks as pivotal for 2025, noting UAE’s leadership in AI and cybersecurity regulation.
Panel discussions deepened the dialogue:
- “Building Digital Armour” tackled technical challenges, featuring insights from experts on resilience and CEO-level cybersecurity integration.
- “Strategic Digital Armour” stressed holistic approaches, advocating multi-layered frameworks like AI and encryption alongside monitoring and governance.
Cybersecurity Ventures’ alarming projection of $10.5 trillion in cybercrime costs by 2025 underscored the urgency. Statistics of 219 trillion annual attacks globally highlighted the vast scale of threats.
Dr. Sahitya K. Chaturvedi, IBPC Secretary General, concluded with a call for proactive collaboration to fortify UAE’s digital landscape. This forum, the first of three under the “Digital Armour” initiative, reaffirms the IBPC’s commitment to resilient digital defences.
