RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has officially launched the Umrah season for Hijri year 1447, with visa and permit issuance beginning for international pilgrims. The announcement, made by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, comes into effect starting Tuesday, 10th June, marking the start of preparations for the influx of Umrah visitors.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), pilgrims arriving from outside the Kingdom can now apply for Umrah permits from Wednesday through the “Nusuk” app. This unified digital platform simplifies the booking process and centralises government services for Umrah pilgrims.
The Nusuk platform offers a wide range of user-friendly digital services to enhance the religious and logistical experience. From permit applications to travel arrangements and on-ground support, the platform is designed to ensure an efficient and smooth process for all.
The ministry highlighted that technical and operational preparations had been underway well in advance in collaboration with key stakeholders. These measures aim to ensure the smooth facilitation of pilgrim services, while also maintaining safety and comfort standards.
Further efforts are being made to introduce more digital solutions and multilingual educational tools during this Umrah season, aimed at supporting a diverse international audience. This includes expanding access to information and services that are critical for a spiritually fulfilling Umrah journey.
