Dubai Airports honours a son’s heartfelt request with a commemorative passport stamp for his father, symbolising 60 years of dedication to the city.
Dubai: In a touching tribute aligned with the UAE’s Year of Community, Dubai Airports has fulfilled a son’s heartfelt wish by issuing a commemorative passport stamp for his father, Haji N Jamaluddin, celebrating 60 years of belonging and service to the nation.
A Symbol of Belonging:
Jamaluddin arrived in Dubai from Mumbai on 26 February 1965, stepping into a city that was only just beginning to form its identity. Though his original journey went unmarked by an entry stamp—common at a time when Dubai lacked a formal port—his son sought to honour his father’s lifelong contributions with an official stamp. Dubai Airports turned the idea into reality, presenting Jamaluddin with a symbolic entry into a city he helped shape over six decades.
A Life of Service and Education:
Founder and chairman of Crescent English High School, established in 1984, Jamaluddin has dedicated his life to affordable education. Today, his institution supports over 1,700 students, maintaining a legacy built on the belief that “education is the best weapon for enlightenment.” His contributions have left a lasting imprint on the community, driven by a deep admiration for the UAE’s visionary leadership.
Inspiration from Leadership:
Jamaluddin recalls the lasting influence of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who personally oversaw Dubai’s development and inspired a generation through his example. That legacy continues through His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, whom Jamaluddin credits for sustaining Dubai’s commitment to growth, inclusivity, and human connection.
Empowering the Next Generation:
To extend the celebration, students from Crescent English High School were invited for an exclusive educational tour of Dubai International Airport (DXB). The visit provided a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the operations of one of the world’s busiest airports and highlighted the importance of global connectivity.
This commemorative passport stamp is more than ink on paper—it’s a gesture of gratitude, community, and the enduring legacy of those who built Dubai’s story from the ground up.
