Children’s novel Khushi launched at SIBF 2022

Sharjah: As the Sharjah International Book Fair continues to Spread the Word, a children’s book that sheds light on the relationship between man and the environment Khushi was launched among guests. The novel narrates the story of a little boy Jay and a cat named Khushi as penned by Sadiq Kavil who meet in a park that is home to the cat.

The inauguration was held at Hall No.7, Expo Centre Sharjah recently. Khushi, initially written in Malayalam, has been translated into English by Bhaskar Raj. Several dignitaries present at the launch event expressed their fondness for Kavil’s writing as well as wished the author the best for the launch.

The book is written to stir up emotions among all, be it adults or kids on how animals are mistreated by humans. Many among the crowd were given a glimpse into the book by Noura Rasheed, a 6th grader from Dubai. She said that she read the book and was left sleepless for many days. She was so stirred by the book, she cried as well as thought endlessly even while she was asleep. She expressed her admiration for Jay and Khushi’s unconditional love. The 6th grader also recommended the book to all and also expressed her eagerness to read the sequel.
