UK: Several A-level students have been left lost as they have reportedly been given the wrong results.

The AQA exam board accidentally marked students who were present for their exams as absent, while others found out that their coursework was marked ‘not classified’ despite being marked by teachers.

The mix-up was uncovered when students received U grades and their teachers queried the exam board.

They revealed that the students had been marked as absent, while it’s not yet known why the mix-up occurred, some of the students are thought to have been marked absent because they were sat separately from their peers – due to learning difficulties.

The number of wrongly marked papers could be near 4,000. UK Students wrong grade

About the AQA exam board

Everyone has the potential to achieve, so the AQA exam board make sure that their qualifications give all students the opportunity to show what they can do and progress to the next stage of their lives.

The UK qualifications are highly valued by employers and universities around the world. They are taught mainly in schools and colleges and include GCSEs, AS and A-levels, the Extended Project Qualification and Technical Awards.

They set and mark over half of all GCSEs and A-levels taken in the UK every year. As an independent education charity, our income is reinvested back into AQA’s charitable activities. It also funds cutting-edge research, which sits at the heart of its assessments and supports its initiatives to help young people facing challenges in life realise their potential.

They also provide support and services that enable learning. These include comprehensive support and training packages for teachers, opportunities for professional development (CPD) and online resources to help teachers in the classroom. They also offer a range of qualifications specifically designed for international British curriculum schools through their joint venture with Oxford University Press, and Oxford International AQA Examinations.
