ABU DHABI: The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque welcomed 82,053 visitors during the 53rd Eid Al Etihad holiday, recording a 7% increase from last year. The peak day was December 1, 2024, with 23,932 visitors.

A top cultural and tourist destination, the mosque offered an engaging Eid experience. Visitors explored “Souq Al Jami” and outdoor kiosks, set against the mosque’s stunning backdrop. The site also features over 50 commercial units, including fine dining restaurants, shops, and family-friendly entertainment, catering to people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.

The mosque’s “Path of Tolerance” experience highlighted its role as a beacon of global unity. Visitors accessed the “Al Jami Library,” home to rare Islamic books and manuscripts. Unique tours, like “Hidden Gems of the Mosque,” allowed families to explore the mosque using electric vehicles, while “Sarai” nighttime tours provided an enchanting after-hours experience.

Bilingual cultural tours in Arabic and English offered insights into Eid Al Etihad’s significance in the UAE. The “El-Delleel” service introduced an augmented reality experience, offering multilingual virtual tours in 14 languages, appealing to visitors of all ages.

These experiences provided visitors with a deeper understanding of Islamic art, architecture, and the UAE’s values of tolerance and coexistence. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque remains a global landmark for cultural exchange and unity.
