DUBAI: Dubai Municipality has announced a record-breaking 31 million visitors to its parks and recreational facilities in 2024, marking a 7% increase from the previous year. This surge highlights the city’s commitment to enhancing green spaces, reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a top leisure and tourism destination.
Public parks saw 20.8 million visitors, with five major parks—Zabeel Park, Mushrif Park, Al Mamzar Beach Park, Dubai Creek Park, and Safa Park—welcoming 6.69 million guests collectively. Quranic Park drew 1.8 million, while Dubai Frame recorded 1.59 million visitors. Children’s City attracted over 112,000 guests, and various cycling, mountain biking, and pedestrian tracks had 1.49 million users. Playgrounds also remained popular, drawing 180,000 visitors.
Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, highlighted the parks’ world-class urban design, which prioritises comfort, sustainability, and engaging experiences.
“The remarkable visitor numbers in 2024 reflect the appeal of Dubai’s public parks as dynamic leisure and tourism destinations. Our commitment is to create sustainable, inclusive spaces that enhance Dubai’s quality of life,” Anwahi stated.
Dubai Municipality continues to enhance these spaces, aligning with the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033, and Dubai Walk Masterplan to develop pedestrian-friendly environments with green spaces. The authority hosted 1,283 cultural, sporting, and community events in 2024, including the Farmers Souq, Dubai Fitness Challenge, and Grand Picnic.
Operational efficiency has also improved, with a 98% success rate in preventive maintenance, ensuring world-class facilities. With continued investment in infrastructure and sustainability, Dubai’s parks remain top-tier leisure destinations for residents and tourists alike.
