RAS AL KHAIMAH: The Emirate marked a historic year in 2024, with Ras Al Khaimah tourism achieving record-breaking milestones. The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) reported 1.28 million overnight arrivals, a 12% increase in revenue, and a 15% surge in MICE visitors.

This growth aligns with the Emirate’s vision to welcome 3.5 million annual visitors by 2030. CEO Raki Phillips celebrated the achievement, citing sustainability, enhanced connectivity, and diverse traveller experiences as key drivers. Phillips added, “Our focus remains on transforming Ras Al Khaimah into a future-forward destination.”

The success stems from multiple initiatives, including over 2,200 global activities across 70 cities, direct flights from Poland, India, Saudi Arabia, and others, and openings like Sofitel Al Hamra Beach Resort. Events like the Global Citizen Forum, Ras Al Khaimah Golf Championship, and the Seven Wonders concert series further elevated its global standing.

RAKTDA’s sustainability leadership earned accolades such as the ‘Middle East’s Most Sustainable Project’ and the EarthCheck Sustainable Destinations Silver Certification. Programmes like Responsible RAK ensured eco-friendly practices across the tourism sector.

Ras Al Khaimah tourism gained traction in China, with collaborations with Huawei and Trip.com, and a strong presence on platforms like WeChat and Douyin. Recognitions included ‘Best Global Partner’ and ‘Fastest-Growing Tourism Destination’.

MICE tourism flourished with an impressive 15% growth, boosted by 80 global engagements. This performance reinforced the Emirate’s position as a top-tier MICE destination.

Ras Al Khaimah’s New Year’s Eve drone show claimed two Guinness World Records, symbolising its creative spirit. Additionally, the Emirate was ranked among the top ten cities for expats, highlighting its appeal for global residents.
