ABU DHABI: In 2023, Abu Dhabi’s airports were bustling with over 22.4 million travelers, with a significant number arriving from the Indian subcontinent.
According to the Key Transport Statistics 2023 report by the Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi (SCAD), the Indian subcontinent emerged as the leading origin for arrivals, with approximately 3.2 million travelers making their way through Abu Dhabi’s terminals by the end of the year. This influx underscored the region’s robust ties and travel connections with Abu Dhabi.
The report further highlighted that travelers from the Indian subcontinent accounted for a substantial portion of the airport’s activity, reflecting strong economic, cultural, and personal links between the subcontinent and Abu Dhabi. These travelers contributed to the diverse tapestry of visitors passing through the emirate’s airports, enriching its international ambiance.
Al Ain International Airport also saw significant activity, with thousands of arrivals and departures recorded throughout the year, further illustrating the region’s connectivity and importance within Abu Dhabi’s broader transport network.
