SHARJAH: Xposure 2025 film screenings are set to captivate UAE audiences with 320 powerful cinematic stories at its new venue in Aljada, Sharjah. Running until February 26, the festival offers an unforgettable journey through compelling narratives, breathtaking documentaries, and visually striking short films. Screenings take place daily from 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM.

This year’s lineup includes globally acclaimed productions that redefine storytelling and cinematography. A major highlight is The Neighborhood Storyteller, a moving documentary by Mexican filmmaker Alejandra Alcala, portraying a Syrian woman’s efforts to empower teenage girls through reading.

Another standout is Iraq’s Invisible Beauty, an intimate portrait of Iraqi photographer Latif Al Ani. Directed by Jurgen Buedts and Sahim Omar Kalifa, this documentary—nominated for Best Documentary at the Ensors 2024—chronicles Al Ani’s lifelong mission to document Iraq’s history.

For ocean enthusiasts, Deep Hope – Le dernier refuge explores breathtaking underwater landscapes, while Under The Pole – 3 Days Beneath the Sea takes viewers on a deep-sea adventure in Moorea’s coral reefs. Directed by Vincent Pérazio, the film won the Originality Award at the Galathea International Marine Film Festival.

Other remarkable films include Sikat Subar – A Hidden Colorful Feather, which delves into Timor-Leste’s social traditions, and In the Union of Our Emirates, a UAE-based documentary celebrating the nation’s 50-year journey.

Xposure 2025 continues to champion fresh voices, showcasing films from the FANN Media Discovery Platform and Sharjah Youth. Notable selections include Noor, Shadow of a Star, The Sack, and Umm Salama The Matchmaker.
