SHARJAH: The Sharjah Classic Cars Festival (SCCF 2025) is back for its highly anticipated second edition, showcasing over 400 rare vintage automobiles and attracting car enthusiasts, collectors, and industry experts from across the region.

Running until February 17 at the Sharjah Old Cars Club (SOCC) headquarters, the festival is themed “Where the Story Begins” and offers a blend of history, entertainment, and education.

The opening ceremony was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Sheikh Salem bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ali Salem Al Midfa, and Dr. Ali Ahmed Abu Al-Zoud, along with leading automotive experts.

A key highlight of this year’s exhibition is the display of two historically significant vehicles: a 1988 two-door Range Rover Classic once owned by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and a 1988 four-door Range Rover that belonged to the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The festival’s programme includes expert discussion panels, interactive competitions, entertainment activities, dedicated food and beverage areas, and an exclusive auction for rare classic cars.

A key panel discussion titled “Passion or Business? The Art of Collecting Classic Cars” featured Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, Mohammed Bin Dakhin Al Matroushi, and Salem Bin Salem Al Suwaidi. They explored classic car collecting as both a passion and an investment, with insights on valuation, restoration, and global market demand.

During the ceremony, Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi and Dr. Ali Ahmed Abu Al-Zoud honoured the event’s strategic partners, including Arabian Gulf Mechanical Centre – BMW, Emirates Auction, Sharjah Islamic Bank, and the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.
