SHARJAH – The highly anticipated 16th edition of the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival (SCRF 2025) is set to open its doors on 23rd April and will run until 4th May at Expo Centre Sharjah. The festival promises a vibrant celebration of literature for children and young adults, bringing together a range of exciting activities, workshops, and performances over a 12-day period.

This year’s SCRF will host a dynamic programme, including interactive workshops led by expert specialists. These sessions are designed to help children and young adults develop their skills, broaden their knowledge, and foster creativity. Alongside these workshops, visitors can enjoy engaging theatrical performances, art exhibitions, and a variety of educational events, ensuring a truly immersive experience.

Notable authors, illustrators, and publishers from the children’s literature sector will also participate in book readings, signings, and discussion panels. This gives visitors the chance to interact directly with creators and gain deeper insights into the literary world.

The prestigious Sharjah Children’s Book Awards will also be a key highlight, with winners of various categories including the Sharjah Children’s Book Award, the Children’s Book Illustration Award, and the Books for Visually Impaired Children Award to be announced during the festival.

Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), emphasised that under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Sharjah remains committed to nurturing a culture of knowledge and creativity. This vision is reflected in the festival’s diverse and evolving programme, which continues to inspire the next generation.
