SHARJAH: Expo Centre Sharjah achieved remarkable milestones in 2024, solidifying its status as a premier hub for regional and global exhibitions. The Centre, alongside its branches in Khorfakkan and Al Dhaid, hosted 80 major events, drawing nearly 3 million visitors and featuring prominent companies and brands.
The event portfolio spanned diverse sectors, including the renowned Sharjah International Book Fair, which welcomed 1.82 million visitors, and the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show, attracting over 150,000 visitors and 1,400 exhibitors across two editions. Other notable events included SteelFab, Emirates Perfumes and Oud Exhibition, and ACRES real estate fair.
Education-focused events shone with the International Education Show hosting 125 institutions from over 20 countries and drawing 25,000 visitors. Partnerships flourished, as Expo Sharjah formalised agreements with key organisers like MIE Events for the upcoming Evolve Future Mobility Show and Education Scenario International to enhance Pakistani educational participation.
The Centre also prioritised innovation and digital solutions, partnering with Magnati and PayRow Payment to improve visitor and exhibitor experiences. Global collaborations were bolstered, with engagements from Italian and German delegations, strengthening ties and enhancing exhibitor participation.
Sharjah’s vibrant exhibition sector extended to Expo Al Dhaid and Expo Khorfakkan, hosting events like the Al Dhaid Honey Festival, Mango Festival, and Eastern Bride exhibition. These events showcased Sharjah’s cultural heritage while supporting local entrepreneurs and productive families.
Chairman Abdallah Sultan Al Owais highlighted the emirate’s robust infrastructure and strategic location, fostering an optimal environment for hosting international events. CEO Saif Mohammed Al Midfa reiterated the Centre’s commitment to sustainable growth and global standards, aiming to attract investors and boost domestic tourism.
With over 15 participations in global exhibitions like the Global Business Forum in India and the EdTech Conference in the UK, Expo Sharjah continues shaping Sharjah’s economic landscape, setting ambitious plans for 2025 with events like the Dairy Tech Middle East Exhibition.
