ABU DHABI: The Arabian camel auction at the 21st Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) 2024 generated great interest, selling 15 camels for nearly AED2.5 million. Organised by ADNEC Group and the Advanced Scientific Group at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi, the auction attracted a large crowd of camel enthusiasts.

This year’s event, which concludes on Sunday, hosted the largest and most significant auction for purebred Arabian camels, highly valued in the UAE and GCC for their racing abilities. Camel racing is a key part of the region’s heritage, and bidders competed fiercely to acquire top breeds known for excelling on the racetrack.

The auction showcased young male and female camels from the finest breeds, all with impressive racing potential. The value of each camel was determined by its lineage and the achievements of its parents, key factors in assessing their racing capabilities.

To ensure only the best breeds were presented, the Supreme Organising Committee for the Purebred Arabian Camel Auction set strict terms and procedures, including financial guarantees to confirm the seriousness of bidders.
