KUWAIT CITY: Global fashion giant Primark is set to open its first stores in the Middle East, starting with Kuwait and the UAE, through a strategic partnership with retail franchise leader Alshaya Group.
Primark’s debut in the region begins in October 2025 at The Avenues mall in Kuwait. The UAE rollout will follow in early 2026, with planned openings at Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and City Centre Mirdif. In total, four stores are set to launch across both countries by the end of 2026.
This move follows a partnership announcement made in late 2024, marking Primark’s latest step in its international growth. The retailer, founded in Dublin over five decades ago, currently operates more than 460 stores across 17 markets. Known for its affordable fashion, homeware and beauty products, Primark aims to deliver value to customers across new markets.
Primark’s interim CEO, Eoin Tonge, said the brand is excited to bring its unique fashion offering to shoppers in the region. “We believe the Middle East holds strong potential for Primark,” he stated. “We’re thrilled to open our first store in Kuwait this year and expand into Dubai next year.”
John Hadden, CEO of Alshaya Group, echoed the sentiment, saying, “Customer response has been fantastic since we announced the partnership. We look forward to welcoming shoppers to the first Primark stores in the region.”
Both companies have hinted at the possibility of further expansion into other Middle East markets. As excitement builds, fashion enthusiasts across the Gulf region can soon enjoy Primark’s signature style and unbeatable prices close to home.
