Dubai: Dubai Press Club has reintroduced an award, which was initially established in 2001 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, aimed at identifying and nurturing young media talent.

Entitled ‘Ibda’a – The Arab Youth Media Award,’ it was unveiled at the second edition of the Arab Youth Media Forum held on Monday as part of the Arab Media Summit.

This initiative aims to demonstrate excellence among Arab media students, both within the region and across the globe. It features seven categories: photography, podcasting, short video, e-sports, animation, graphics, and journalism.

Further information regarding submission guidelines, evaluation criteria, and prizes will be disclosed in the upcoming weeks.

“Inspired by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision, we aim to empower young Arabs to become significant contributors to the development of the region’s media landscape. Our commitment lies in forging strong partnerships with those who share our belief in the boundless potential of youth,” said His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.

Aligned with current advancements in the media industry, the award seeks to motivate Arab media students to excel in their studies, ultimately fostering the growth of a new generation of creative professionals capable of significantly elevating the media landscape in the Arab world.
