ABU DHABI: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has commended the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, in advancing human values and promoting Quranic education worldwide.
His remarks followed Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s recognition as the first-ever recipient of the Emirates International Holy Quran Award – Personality of the Year for 2025. The award honours his remarkable contributions to the Holy Quran and its reciters.
During a meeting at Sheikh Zayed’s farm in Al Khawaneej, Dubai, the UAE President presented Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid with a special edition of the Mushaf of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, a framed photograph of them with the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and a signed letter appreciating his dedication to Quranic initiatives.
The meeting was attended by Supreme Council Members and Rulers of various emirates, Crown Princes, Deputy Rulers, ministers, and senior officials.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid has played a pivotal role in promoting Quranic education, particularly through the Dubai International Quran Award. This initiative includes multiple programmes, such as the Islamic Personality of the Year Award, Quran memorisation competitions, and the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Quranic Manuscripts. Additionally, he established the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Printing the Holy Quran, reinforcing his commitment to Quranic institutions.
The Emirates International Holy Quran Award, launched under the patronage of the UAE President, comprises three sections: International First Place Quran Award, National First Place Quran Award, and the Honouring of a Global Quranic Personality, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to Quranic excellence worldwide.
