DUBAI: The Mohammed Bin Rashid Library has planned a variety of cultural, educational, and art events this August. These activities include workshops, lectures, and seminars suitable for visitors of all ages and interests, aiming to enrich cultural and knowledge experiences.

The events kick off with a session by Dr. Baraa Dhahir on ‘The Impact of Childhood Trauma on Emotional Development in Children’. This session aims to raise awareness about how childhood trauma affects emotional development and offers ways to address these issues.

The library will also host a reading evening for first-time published authors. This event supports new writers, allowing them to share their experiences and celebrate their achievements.

In celebration of World Calligraphy Day, the library will feature Matar bin Lahej in a discussion panel on ‘Arabic Calligraphy: Between Creativity and Innovation’. The session, moderated by Badr Alawadhi, will explore the role of calligraphy in cultural communication and bin Lahej’s experience with the Museum of the Future.

An interactive workshop on the latest advancements in AI and robotics programming will also be part of the schedule. Trainer Mohammad Alshamsi, along with other specialists, will lead this workshop.

Additionally, Mr. Mohammed Hasanein will present a workshop on ‘Basics of Writing Official Letters in Arabic’. This session will cover the appropriate language and structure for crafting formal letters and best practices for professional communication.

The library will host Emirati entrepreneur Ibtihal Alnaji in a panel discussion on launching technology projects and tackling entrepreneurial challenges.

In celebration of World Hausa Language Day, the library will organise a discussion on ‘Hausa Language: History, Literature, and Linguistic Relations’. Poet Ali Loun and author Abdullah Sabo will discuss the cultural significance of the Hausa language, featuring musical performances from Hausa heritage.

To celebrate Emirati Women’s Day, a group of Emirati musicians will perform traditional music, honouring the achievements and contributions of Emirati women.

The month concludes with a workshop on ‘Mastering Mobile Photography’ by Mansour Al Mansouri, who will teach participants how to capture great photos using mobile phones.

For children, the library is hosting a summer camp from August 5-15 as part of the “Cultural Summer” initiative. This camp offers a variety of sessions and workshops in Arabic and English for children aged 7 to 12, aiming to foster a love for reading and knowledge.
