ABU DHABI: The Ministry of Education (MoE) has launched the nationwide competition ‘My School… My Identity’, inviting students and teachers to creatively transform schools into vibrant hubs celebrating Emirati cultural heritage.
Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of Education, highlighted the competition’s goal of inspiring creativity among students and teachers to design school decorations that embody the UAE’s heritage. She stated, “Education transcends classrooms. Through creativity and innovation, we nurture future custodians of our rich cultural identity while creating interactive learning environments.”
Mohammed Al Qasim, Undersecretary of the MoE, underscored the initiative’s potential to enhance student life quality and foster teamwork. The competition also aligns with the ministry’s mission to motivate excellence and cultural expression.
Judging criteria will focus on designs reflecting Emirati cultural heritage, creativity, innovation, teamwork, and alignment with educational objectives. Schools must also meet technical, health, and safety standards for their submissions.
A panel comprising experts, Emirati artists, and education specialists will evaluate entries, selecting 10 winning schools. Prizes include AED100,000 for first place, AED70,000 for second, AED50,000 for third, and AED25,000 each for fourth to 10th place.
Submissions are open from January 20 to March 28, 2025. This initiative supports creating vibrant spaces that inspire students and highlight the UAE’s identity.
