ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) will be extended to 10 days starting in 2025, running from 26th April to 5th May. The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) made this decision to boost cultural exchange and innovation in publishing.
This extension will offer more opportunities for local and Arab authors to connect with international publishers, helping to set industry standards. Improvements in infrastructure and expanded educational programmes will also be part of this upgrade.
The decision was based on a study by the ALC, which aimed to increase visitor numbers and sales. A 2024 survey showed strong support for a longer event among visitors and exhibitors, aligning with regional standards of 10 to 12-day exhibitions.
Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of the ALC, stated that the extended fair will enhance Abu Dhabi’s role as a hub for Arabic publishing, strengthen its global competitiveness, and provide more benefits for visitors and exhibitors.
The longer duration will allow more time for international delegations and guests to participate, increasing the event’s reach and popularity. This, in turn, will contribute to the cultural economy by boosting activities related to books and publishing, supporting both publishers and authors.

The ALC aims to promote greater cultural interaction by organising a variety of cultural events like seminars, book signings, and workshops. The extension also caters to students and employees who may not attend on weekdays and enhances cultural tourism, positioning Abu Dhabi as a top cultural and tourist destination.
