Abu Dhabi Art has unveiled the 2024 lineup for its Beyond: Emerging Artists programme, an initiative supporting fresh UAE-based talent with new commissions each year. Curated by Lorenzo Fiaschi, Co-Founder of GALLERIA CONTINUA, this year’s programme features works by artists Fatma Al Ali, Dina Nazmi Khorchid, and Simrin Mehra Agarwal. Their pieces will debut at Abu Dhabi Art, held at Manarat Al Saadiyat from November 20 to 24, 2024, before travelling internationally.

Lorenzo Fiaschi expressed excitement for the 18-year collaboration with Abu Dhabi Art, aiming to enhance the region’s contemporary art scene through diverse expressions. “We look forward to guiding these talented artists to create internationally relevant projects that reflect today’s creative landscape,” said Fiaschi, underscoring the programme’s dedication to artistic diversity and innovation.
These artists were selected from over 100 proposals, reviewed by Abu Dhabi Art’s committee, GALLERIA CONTINUA, and Friends of Abu Dhabi Art—a group supporting local culture and art. Abu Dhabi Art Director Dyala Nusseibeh noted that each chosen proposal was rich with analytical depth, addressing themes like conflict, environmental relationships, and the impact of colonialism. Through imaginative landscapes, the artists explore histories of the region in thought-provoking, sometimes playful ways.
