Abu Dhabi led the charge with the 16th Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit, captivating millions worldwide. The emirate also hosted the 6th ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon, the 2024 UCI Urban Cycling World Championships, the Asian Chess Championship, and the Al Forsan International Show Jumping Championship.
Sharjah showcased its prowess with the Sharjah Grand Prix, concluding the 23rd Formula 1 Powerboat World Championship, and the 6th Sharjah Kalba Arabian Horse Festival, featuring 242 competitors from across the nation.
Dubai stole the spotlight with high-profile events like the inaugural Sport Impact Summit (SIS) 2024, attended by 200 global sports leaders, and the Dubai World Obstacle Championship 2024, featuring 1,170 athletes from around the globe. Other highlights included the Dubai Fitness Championship, the Artistic Swimming World League, and the Dubai Grand Prix for XCAT Powerboats. The Sir Churchill Polo Cup and the upcoming Dubai International Sports Conference and Globe Soccer Awards further elevated the city’s sporting calendar.
In Al Dhafra, the Liwa International Festival (LIWA 2025) kicked off on December 13, offering motorsport and traditional sports enthusiasts a vibrant winter destination. The First Salam Cycling Race on December 29 will close the year by promoting Dubai’s natural beauty and community engagement.
