UAE Polo win the Ifza Gold Cup after defeating IFZA Habtoor Polo

Dubai: On March 4, 2023, UAE Polo won the Ifza Gold Cup final match with a score of 9-8 against IFZA Habtoor Polo after a nail-biting final match.
During the 5 chuckers, the two teams went head-to-head to win the trophy and were crowned the winners of the Ifza Gold Cup. However, this wasn’t the only final held at Al Habtoor Polo Club as the Bentley Subsidiary final was also on the same day with the team Dubai Wolves by CAFU being victorious. In this match, the top scorers were Marcos Araya and Carlos Ulloa with 5 goals scored each.

Then the first goal was by Carlos Ulloa and then Teodoro Lacau brought the score to double digits with Carlos Ulloa also ending the match by bringing to score to 11-8. Once the match was over there were several events following. First was the trophy ceremony, where the UAE polo team got handed their trophy, while additionally getting one of their horses the title of best playing horse.
Additionally, more rewards are given to Tommy Beresford as the Most Valuable Player and Nova, a polo pony ridden by Lucas Monteverde Jr., as the Best Playing Pony. The top scorers in the UAE vs Habtoor games were Tommy Beresford and Bautista Bayugar with 6 goals scored each Tommy Beresford scored the first goal of the game and then Lucas Monteverde Jr. scored the final goal of the game.
The history of the sport Polo is unknown, however, what we do know is that is one of the oldest team sports. Even though the origin is unknown, what we do know is that it was probably first played by nomadic warriors over two thousand years ago, but the first recorded tournament was in 600 B.C.
Towards the end of the night, there was a drone show alongside an LED light show. Then to end the night there were gorgeous fireworks lighting up the sky.
