DUBAI: The prestigious Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Endurance Festival is set to take place from February 18 at Dubai International Endurance City in Seih Al Salam. The 18th edition will see top endurance riders from the UAE compete against world-class challengers.
Held in honour of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the festival is a global highlight in endurance racing. A former World Endurance Champion, Sheikh Mohammed is a leading advocate for equestrian sports.
The five-day festival features four elite rides, starting with the 101km Endurance Ride for Ladies on February 18, sponsored by Azizi Developments. The Private Stables competition follows on February 19, also covering 101km. The Gamilati Endurance Cup for Mares, a 120km challenge sponsored by Al Tayer Motors, is set for February 20.
The grand finale, the 160km Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Endurance Cup, takes place on February 22, sponsored by Emirates Airline. This ultimate test of stamina and skill attracts the best horses and riders, offering world-class competition and coveted prizes.
Sheikh Rashed bin Dalmook Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Equestrian Club (DEC), expressed gratitude for Sheikh Mohammed’s unwavering support, calling the festival “one of the most important endurance events globally.” Ahmed Rashed Al Kaabi, Deputy General Manager of DEC, promised an exciting edition, ensuring a meticulously organised event.
Nabil Sultan, Emirates’ Executive VP, reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to Dubai’s equestrian heritage, while Azizi Group CEO Farhad Azizi praised the festival’s role in promoting women’s endurance racing.
