Hatta Summer Sports Festival 2025 kicks off with hiking, kayaking, football and more under Dubai Sports Council’s ‘Active Summer’ initiative.
Dubai: Hatta is set to transform into a buzzing outdoor playground this July as it hosts the Hatta Summer Sports Festival, a flagship activation under Dubai Sports Council’s ‘Active Summer’ initiative. More than 6,000 participants are expected to engage in a vibrant calendar of activities aimed at promoting health, wellness, and community spirit.
Organised in collaboration with Hatta Sports Games Company and supported by the Supreme Committee for the Development of Hatta, the festival includes diverse events such as hiking, kayaking, yoga, and indoor tournaments. Set against Hatta’s scenic mountainous backdrop, the programme caters to all fitness levels and age groups, encouraging an inclusive sporting culture.
The festival’s highlight, the Hatta Summer Sports Tournament, runs from July 4 to 31 at the Community Development Hall. It features corporate football matches, youth dialogues, soap football, PlayStation challenges, kids’ football festivals, badminton and volleyball for girls, senior citizen walking challenges, cultural contests, and tug-of-war tournaments.
Complementing the sports activities are experiential events like horse riding, guided kayak tours at Hatta Dam, and family-friendly attractions at Hatta Honey Park. Free public sessions, including a yoga event and night hike at Wadi Hub on July 12, and an open kayaking day on July 20, further amplify community participation.
Commenting on the initiative, Hayei Hassan Al Budawi, Head of the Sports Games Sector at Hatta Club, said, “The Hatta Summer Sports Festival supports the vision of embedding sports as a lifestyle. Hatta’s unique landscape makes it a perfect destination to stay active while enjoying nature.”
A major running race organised by Super Sports at Hatta Dam on July 27 is expected to draw significant footfall. All events are conducted in accordance with high safety and organisational standards.
The Hatta Summer Sports Festival is part of the wider ‘Active Summer’ campaign—Dubai Sports Council’s strategy to integrate fitness into daily life. Featuring mountain, beach, marine, snow, and inclusive sports, the campaign collaborates with private and public entities to deliver high-impact, community-focused programming.
