Dubai: The DP World International League T20 franchises have finalized their squads for Season 3, retaining a total of 69 players ahead of the tournament scheduled from 11th January to 9th February 2025 across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah.

The player retention process began on 1st June and concluded after two weeks, with each franchise submitting their lists of retained players. Season 3 promises to showcase a lineup of renowned T20 players from across the globe, including 26 who recently competed in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.

Key players retained include Andre Russell, David Willey, and Sunil Narine for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders; Alex Hales, Azam Khan, and Muhammad Amir for Desert Vipers; and David Warner, Dasun Shanaka, and Rovman Powell for Dubai Capitals. Gulf Giants will feature Chris Jordan, James Vince, and Shimron Hetmyer, while MI Emirates includes Kieron Pollard and Nicholas Pooran. Sharjah Warriors retained Johnson Charles and Tom Kohler-Cadmore.

Additionally, each franchise has retained two UAE players: Abu Dhabi Knight Riders kept Aditya Shetty and Alishan Sharafu; Desert Vipers retained Ali Naseer and Tanish Suri; Dubai Capitals included Haider Ali and Raja Akif; Gulf Giants chose Aayan Afzal Khan and Mohammad Zohaib Zubair; MI Emirates selected Muhammad Rohid Khan and Muhammad Waseem; and Sharjah Warriors retained Junaid Siddique and Muhammad Jawadullah.

With the player retention phase completed, franchises now focus on the ongoing Player Acquisition Window until 15th September. Each team has the opportunity to sign at least two more UAE players after the ILT20 Development Tournament in October, aiming to complete their quota of four UAE signings.
