SHARJAH: Sharjah Media City (Shams) is hosting the Shams eSports Championship from 23-25 August 2024 at the Shams Business Centre. The event is part of Shams’ efforts to boost eSports in Sharjah and the UAE.

The three-day championship, held in collaboration with Sharjah Summer Promotions, will feature FIFA 24 on the first day, Tekken 8 on the second, and Super Smash Bros on the third. Each day, the top six players will share AED 10,000 in prizes, with a total prize pool of AED 30,000. Around 300 players are expected to participate.

Alia Al Suwaidi, Acting Director of Media Projects Development at Shams, highlighted that the championship aims to solidify Sharjah’s status as a key destination for gaming and eSports. It also reflects Shams’ ongoing commitment to developing new generations’ skills and discovering emerging talents.

She added that the Shams eSports Championship offers a blend of skill, excitement, and competition in a unique entertainment atmosphere.
