ABU DHABI: Space42, the UAE’s pioneering AI-driven SpaceTech company, has teamed up with the UAE Ministry of Education to launch an educational initiative designed to inspire young minds in science and technology in space education. This campaign, aligned with the upcoming Thuraya 4 satellite launch, invites students from Ministry-run schools to explore Yahsat Space Services’ facilities across the UAE.
The initiative, called “One World. Deeply Connected,” aligns with the Thuraya 4 satellite’s pre-launch activities and the UAE’s STEM curriculum. Through hands-on experiences, the campaign seeks to strengthen students’ understanding of science and technology.
Ali Al Hashemi, CEO of Yahsat Space Services, emphasized the program’s goal of nurturing future scientists and engineers. Highlighting Space42’s role in advancing satellite technology, he noted the initiative’s alignment with the UAE’s National Space Strategy 2030. He expressed Space42’s dedication to hands-on learning, fostering curiosity, and preparing students to shape the future of SpaceTech.
During the tours at Yahsat Space Services’ facilities, students will engage in interactive workshops, witness the satellite control center’s operations, and participate in Q&A sessions with engineers. These sessions are accessible both in-person and virtually, ensuring broad student engagement.
Sulaiman Al Kaabi, Executive Director of the Students’ Wellbeing Sector, praised Space42’s commitment to involving students in meaningful projects and preparing them to lead critical sectors. He noted that this initiative is crucial for deepening students’ knowledge of advanced sciences and space technology, empowering them to contribute to the UAE’s vision.

Yahsat’s facilities in Abu Dhabi will host students from grades 7 to 9 over six weeks in October and November 2024, with additional visits planned to the Thuraya gateway and offices in Sharjah. Through this campaign, students gain unique insights into STEM applications and are encouraged to pursue careers in aerospace and technology, connecting them to the UAE’s space exploration accomplishments.
