SAN FRANCISCO: AI startup OpenAI has announced that its chatbot, ChatGPT, now has over 200 million weekly active users. This is double the number it had last fall. ChatGPT, which was introduced in 2022, generates responses that resemble human conversation based on user prompts. Back in November, OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman mentioned that the chatbot had 100 million weekly users.

OpenAI also revealed that 92 percent of Fortune 500 companies are using its products. Additionally, the use of its automated Application Programming Interface (API), which helps software programs communicate, has doubled since the launch of ChatGPT-4o mini in July.

OpenAI is a technology company that focuses on creating advanced artificial intelligence (AI) tools. One of its most well-known products is ChatGPT, a chatbot that can have conversations with people and answer questions in a way that sounds like a human.

ChatGPT was first introduced in 2022, and it has quickly become very popular. The chatbot can understand and respond to a wide range of topics, making it useful for many different purposes, from casual chats to more complex tasks. As of now, ChatGPT has over 200 million users each week, which is double the number it had last fall.

In addition to being used by many individuals, ChatGPT is also used by a large number of big companies. In fact, 92 percent of Fortune 500 companies are using OpenAI’s products. Another important part of OpenAI’s technology is its API, which lets different software programs work together. Since the release of a new version of ChatGPT in July, the use of this API has also doubled, showing that more and more businesses are finding ways to integrate OpenAI’s technology into their own systems.
