DUBAI: RTA has introduced two new boat routes to make it easier for people living in Dubai Creek Harbour Marina to travel around.

The first route runs from Dubai Creek Harbour to Dubai Festival City on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 4 PM to midnight. The second route connects Dubai Creek Harbour with Al Jaddaf Marine Transport Station and Al Khor Metro Station on weekdays (Monday to Friday) from 7:30 AM to 10:50 AM and from 4 PM to 10:50 PM. Each stop on these routes costs just AED 2. These new routes are designed to help people visit popular tourist spots and enhance local travel.

This development came about after RTA and Emaar Properties signed an agreement to improve transport for waterfront communities and boost tourist and residential areas in Dubai.

Authorities linked to project mentioned that these boat routes have been very successful. When they started in August 2022, they had about 3,000 passengers a month. Now, this number has jumped to around 30,000 passengers a month, a huge increase of 900 percent. To keep up with this demand, new infrastructure is being added, including boat docks and ticket kiosks to make the service better for everyone.

It was also highlighted how important it is for public and private sectors to work together in the UAE. This partnership helps reach goals more effectively, supports the economy, and makes Dubai a better place to live and invest. Improved transport in Emaar’s waterfront developments will make them more appealing and accessible.

RTA is focused on improving marine transport for both residents and visitors. They will keep working with developers to ensure that Dubai continues to meet its goals and remains a top destination.
