DUBAI: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a large-scale project to renew road markings at 89 locations across the city. The initiative is part of the 2025 Preventive Maintenance Plan for Line Marking and Road Signage, aimed at enhancing traffic safety and maintaining road clarity for all motorists.
The renewal programme includes re-striping 50 major roads, such as Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, First Al Khail Road, and Al Khawaneej Street. Additionally, 39 residential areas like Al Awir, Al Barsha, and Al Qusais Industrial Area will see updated markings to ensure visibility and guidance in local neighbourhoods.
As part of the project, red surfacing will be repainted in speed reduction zones, and road markings at box junctions, paid parking, and traffic-calming devices such as speed humps will be refreshed. This ensures better road safety and smoother navigation across various parts of the Emirate.
Abdulla Ali Lootah, Director of Roads and Facilities Maintenance Department at the RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, noted that more than 30,000 linear metres of road markings will be renewed. He emphasised the project’s role in upholding RTA’s Traffic Safety Strategy and Dubai’s vision for world-class infrastructure.
RTA is also implementing modern technologies to remove and repaint markings with high-quality, long-lasting materials. Safety protocols will be strictly followed during works to minimise any disruption to traffic.
This maintenance effort reflects RTA’s ongoing dedication to keeping Dubai’s roads safe, efficient, and in top condition for all users.
