Dubai: Emaar Properties has unveiled an ambitious plan Dubai Mall expansion, introducing 240 new luxury retail outlets and dining venues. Valued at AED1.5 billion, this expansion initiative is already underway with contractors mobilizing on-site.
Mohamed Alabbar, the visionary founder of Emaar Properties, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing its significance in enhancing Dubai Mall’s global appeal. He conveyed appreciation to patrons, partners, retailers, and governmental bodies for their steadfast support, underscoring the expansion’s alignment with Dubai’s commitment to innovation and cultural prominence.
Dubai Mall’s reputation as a premier destination was underscored in 2023 when it surpassed all others as the world’s most visited location, welcoming a staggering 105 million visitors. This marked a remarkable 19% increase from the preceding year, accompanied by robust sales figures. The trend continued into 2024, as Dubai Mall retained its status as a beacon of global retail and entertainment, offering cutting-edge experiences while consistently delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.
Recently, Dubai Mall welcomed a record 105 million visitors in 2023, a jump of over 19 percent on the previous year’s 88 million, according to latest figures released by the mall on Tuesday.
Figures also showed a staggering 20 million people visited the mall in the first two months of this year alone, with 2024 set to be another record year.
