DUBAI: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has opened a new driver training and licensing centre in Hatta, bringing essential services closer to residents in the area. This initiative, launched in partnership with Emirates Driving Institute, aims to improve access to licensing services for Hatta and nearby communities.

Until now, residents had to travel long distances to Dubai or neighbouring emirates for such services. The new branch provides a full range of facilities, including traffic file opening, theory and practical classes, testing, and issuance of driving licences for both light vehicles and motorcycles—available in manual and automatic transmission options.

Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency, said the project is a step forward in enhancing public service delivery for remote communities. “The launch reflects RTA’s dedication to improving local services and reducing the travel burden on Hatta residents,” he said. “It also supports the Dubai Government’s vision to promote Hatta as a prime residential and tourist destination.”

This marks the 27th RTA-approved driver licensing centre in Dubai and reflects the authority’s ongoing efforts to expand its reach in partnership with the private sector. The move also aligns with Dubai’s broader development goals and the RTA’s strategy of improving customer satisfaction by offering services closer to where people live.

The Hatta centre is open Sunday to Friday from 8:15 AM to 11:00 PM, with a break on Fridays from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM and a daily break from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM. On Saturdays, the branch operates for registration only, between 11:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
