AJMAN: Ajman Transport Authority has introduced a cutting-edge open and contactless payment system across its public bus network, making it the first in the UAE to adopt this advanced technology.
Passengers can now pay for their rides seamlessly using bank cards, digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay, and even smartwatches. Smart payment devices have been installed across the entire fleet, with the system already active on internal routes. Plans are in place to extend the service to external routes soon.
As part of this digital upgrade, the authority has also enhanced its Masaar Travel app. Commuters can now plan their trips, track buses in real time, link their bank cards, and view their travel history—all at their fingertips. This move aligns with Ajman’s broader digital transformation strategy, aimed at improving public transport efficiency and convenience.
The initiative underscores Ajman’s commitment to smart mobility solutions, reducing reliance on cash transactions and offering commuters a faster, more secure, and hassle-free travel experience. By integrating technology into everyday commuting, the emirate is setting a new standard for urban mobility in the UAE.
