Ambani ranks first on IIFL Rich List, the ‘wealthiest’ Asian’s ninth year on top

The personal net worth of Indian big-wig Mukesh Ambani rose by 73 per cent to Rs 6.58 trillion, earning him the title ‘Asia’s richest’ for the ninth consecutive year on Tuesday. 

Ambani, 63, who heads the prolific Reliance Industries, one of India’s top-leading firms, is also among the top five wealthiest at a global level, the stats arranged by Hurun in association with IIFL Wealth reported.

The rankings comes at a time when the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a deep economic impact on the lives and fears are being expressed about a sudden-pitch recovery, which will result in more inequalities in the society.

The list identified 828 Indians who are worth over Rs 10 billion as of August 31 and made it to the list of richest Indians.
