Lulu Retail and MoEI launch ‘Save to Sustain’ to drive awareness on energy efficiency and sustainable shopping choices.

Abu Dhabi: Lulu Retail has launched Save to Sustain, a sustainability-focused campaign in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI). This initiative encourages consumers to make sustainable shopping choices by opting for energy-efficient and eco-friendly appliances, aligning with the UAE’s national goals for sustainability and resource efficiency.

The campaign was officially launched in Abu Dhabi, drawing key figures including Eng. Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at MoEI, and Saifee Rupawala, CEO of Lulu Retail. The initiative is part of Lulu’s broader commitment to promoting environmental responsibility across its customer base.

Eng. Al Olama highlighted the campaign’s importance, stating, “The Save to Sustain initiative aims to raise public awareness about the importance of using high-efficiency appliances and adopting energy saving practices in their homes. These small changes can make a big difference in building a sustainable future.” He praised Lulu’s active collaboration and urged other retailers to introduce similar campaigns to support the UAE’s green agenda.

The event was also attended by senior Lulu executives including Salim VI, Chief Operating and Strategy Officer; Nandakumar V, Director of Marcom; and Aboobakker T, Director of Lulu Abu Dhabi Region.

By promoting sustainable shopping choices, Lulu seeks to educate customers on how everyday purchasing decisions can contribute to a larger environmental impact. The initiative reflects a shared commitment between public and private sectors to reduce energy consumption and promote sustainable living.
