DUBAI: The Al Marmoom Environmental Scout Camp launched in Dubai under the theme “Scouts: Leaders of Tomorrow and Makers of the Future,” with 600 scouts and commanders from 17 countries. The camp, running until December 19, 2024, is dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability and developing leadership skills in youth through a series of engaging activities and workshops.

Participants will attend 17 training workshops presented by local partners, covering key topics like first aid, artificial intelligence, and climate change. In addition, five external visits to cultural and heritage sites will provide scouts with an opportunity to explore the region’s rich history, while field activities will help improve physical abilities and strengthen their connection with nature.

The camp’s educational activities focus on enhancing life skills such as teamwork, leadership, environmental sustainability, and critical thinking. It provides a platform for young people to learn how to work together, think critically, and tackle real-world challenges.

Dr. Salem Abdulrahman Al Darmaki, Chairman of the Emirates Scout Association (ESA), highlighted the camp’s role in developing essential skills. He stressed that the workshops and activities aim to equip participants with the leadership and environmental skills needed to address global challenges. The camp also focuses on preparing scouts for future challenges by teaching them how to lead under pressure, think innovatively, and find solutions to complex problems.

This initiative reinforces the importance of environmental responsibility and leadership development, making the Al Marmoom Environmental Scout Camp a pivotal event in shaping tomorrow’s leaders.
