Indian cabinet greenlights 12 industrial smart city projects
Thu 29 Aug 2024NEW DELHI: Indian Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved 12 new industrial smart city projects. These projects, part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, involve an estimated investment of ₹286.02 billion (AED12.51 billion).
They are strategically planned across 10 states along six major corridors, marking a significant advancement in India’s efforts to boost its manufacturing capabilities and economic growth.
The industrial areas will be established in Khurpia in Uttarakhand, Rajpura-Patiala in Punjab, Dighi in Maharashtra, Palakkad in Kerala, Agra and Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, Gaya in Bihar, Zaheerabad in Telangana, Orvakal and Kopparthy in Andhra Pradesh, and Jodhpur-Pali in Rajasthan.

These industrial nodes are expected to serve as catalysts for achieving US$2 trillion in exports by 2030, aligning with the government’s vision of a self-reliant and globally competitive India.
