AJMAN: The Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) reported a notable increase in business activity in the first half of 2024. The number of active licences grew by 15 percent compared to the same period in 2023, reaching a total of 37,755 active Economic licences in Ajman.
This growth highlights the sustainability and vitality of Ajman’s business sector.
The report also showed a 5 percent increase in new licences, with 3,000 new licences issued in the first half of 2024. New industrial and commercial licences saw a 14 percent rise. The most common new licences were for the sale of ready-made women’s clothing, building maintenance, and restaurants.
Additionally, over 15,000 Economic licences in Ajman were renewed, showing a growth rate of 9 percent. Industrial licences in Ajman led the renewals with a 10 percent increase, followed by professional and commercial licences at 9 percent. More than 34,000 commercial permits were issued during this period.
