Dubai DET and noon partner to empower entrepreneurs and boost SMEs
Wed 11 Sep 2024DUBAI: The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has partnered with noon, a leading digital platform, to launch an e-commerce program aimed at boosting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Dubai. This collaboration is part of the Dubai Traders initiative, one of the ten transformative projects under Dubai’s Economic Agenda, D33, initiated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The initiative aims to empower Dubai-based SMEs by providing them with digital tools and channels to expand both locally and internationally.
Dubai Traders focuses on creating strong private sector partnerships with B2B, B2C, and digital solution providers to offer SMEs tools, incentives, and support for engaging with online customers. The partnership between DET and noon will initially focus on the e-commerce sector, helping SMEs build a robust online presence and thrive in the digital marketplace.
The program offers an onboarding incentive package to encourage SMEs, both new and experienced, to join the noon platform. Emirati sellers will receive additional benefits, including personalized support through noon’s Mahali program. Participants will also gain access to exclusive incentives such as bespoke onboarding support, training workshops, advertising credits, and preferential access to noon’s quick-commerce platform.
Hadi Badri, CEO of Dubai Economic Development Corporation, emphasized the importance of SMEs to Dubai’s economy and highlighted the partnership’s role in supporting the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. Faraz Khalid, CEO of noon, expressed pride in empowering local entrepreneurs through the Dubai Traders initiative.
