DUBAI: Celebrating 50 years in the UAE, Jotun has reached a major milestone—crossing 100 million litres in paint production, solidifying its role in the region’s construction and design evolution. The focus keyphrase Jotun UAE milestone appears throughout, as the brand reflects on its journey since 1975.
From a modest start in Rashidiya, Jotun UAE has coloured many of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks—from the Dubai World Trade Centre and Burj Al Arab to Burj Khalifa, Dubai Metro, and the vibrant Expo2020 venues. In 2003, the company ramped up its output by shifting to its high-tech Al Quoz facility, with a 40 million litre capacity.
Fast forward to 2024, Jotun’s volume hit 100 million litres—marking a 6% CAGR over 20 years. With exports to over 23 countries and the UAE ranking as one of its top markets, Jotun plans to grow 8% annually over the next three years. Production is also set to rise to 145 million litres, with investments in new lines and tech upgrades.
Blending Scandinavian roots with UAE style, Jotun’s decorative, protective, marine and powder coatings have transformed not just buildings but user experiences. Its technical service team, colour consultation services, colour academy, and sustainability-first approach ensure long-lasting, vibrant results.
Jotun’s ‘GreenSteps’ strategy aligns with Dubai’s 2040 urban goals. By 2030, it aims to cut emissions by 50% and switch 70% of energy use to renewables.
Kjetil Urheim, GM of Jotun UAE, said: “For five decades, we’ve had the privilege of helping shape the UAE’s built environment with protection, colours and innovation at the core.”
Jotun’s legacy lives on in every shade and every skyline.
