Changan’s DEEPAL S05 electric SUV will launch across the Middle East and Africa in July 2025, bringing smart mobility and dual power options to new markets.
Dubai: Following its successful UAE debut, the DEEPAL S05, Changan Automobile’s intelligent compact electric SUV, is set to launch across key Middle East and Africa (MEA) markets in July 2025. The smart, performance-driven SUV will soon be available in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Ivory Coast, Angola, and Palestine, marking DEEPAL’s growing regional expansion.
Positioned as a future-forward mobility solution, the DEEPAL S05 delivers style, efficiency, and intelligent connectivity tailored to the evolving needs of urban drivers across the MEA region. It offers two distinct variants: a pure electric (EV) version with up to 460 km range, and a range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) version with a combined range exceeding 900 km. The REEV’s 1.5L engine ensures flexibility where EV charging infrastructure is still emerging.
Mr Xiao, General Manager of Changan’s Middle East and Africa Division, said: “The DEEPAL S05 answers the demand for cleaner, smarter transport options. It blends innovative features, high-end design, and regional practicality at an accessible price point.”
Key features of the DEEPAL S05 include a 15.4” central display, smart voice assistant, OTA upgrade capability, and zero-gravity seats for elevated in-cabin comfort. The aerodynamic body, frameless windows, and hidden door handles reflect a premium aesthetic, while safety is ensured via advanced radar-based driver assistance systems. The EV variant offers 175kW output, while the REEV delivers 160kW, both achieving 0–100 km/h acceleration in under eight seconds.
Built on DEEPAL’s proprietary CPA platform, the S05 is engineered for efficiency, agility, and enhanced user experience—ideal for the smart cities of MEA. With panoramic sunroof, AR-HUD, and seamless connectivity, it appeals to environmentally conscious and tech-savvy drivers alike.
DEEPAL is now working with regional distributors to launch dedicated showrooms and test drive experiences. While market-specific pricing and availability will be announced in July, customer registrations are expected to open soon.
